IRATA Geotechnical Project Manager

 

We are expanding our team and are seeking to appoint an IRATA Qualified Geotechnical Project Manager. The primary function of this role will be to manage the geotechnical projects including pricing/quoting, planning and managing of works, both on and off site to deliver successful projects.

This role will be based from our offices in Raglan, Monmouthshire, with a combination of remote working and site visits throughout the UK.

Salary range of £44,000 to £54,000 dependant on experience and includes use of company vehicles, company pension and company sick pay scheme.

 

Essential qualities

 

  • This role is envisaged as being “hands on”, with time spent in the office pricing and planning projects, together with regular site visits and occasionally working as part of the site team.  A flexible approach to work is therefore essential.
  • Must have a “can do” mentality and be constantly prepared to challenge the norm in a quest to find cost effective, time efficient solutions for clients
  • Ability to lead and work within teams whilst also being able to work independently
  • Must be a motivated individual with a desire to want to see the business evolve and succeed

 

Qualifications and experience required

 

  • Experience of geotechnical projects
  • Computer skills to include, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must hold (or have recently held) an IRATA qualification

 

Desirable skills and qualifications

 

  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic drilling plant
  • 1st aid qualified
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of rope access working
  • Project Management experience is preferable, but not essential for the right candidate

 

Roles and responsibilities will include:

 

Pre-project:

 

  • Project pricing, resourcing of personnel, plant, equipment and materials
  • Project documentation production including Method Statements and Risk Assessments
  • Client liaison

 

During project:

 

  • Production and when necessary, revision of relevant documentation
  • Working closely with site supervisor to ensure project success
  • Management of site personnel utilising IT systems to keep track of people and progress
  • Ensure smooth running of project, keeping all works, on time and to budget, being aware of costs at all times and reporting to iBEX MD
  • Monitoring site staff, ensuring quality and health and safety standards are being adhered to at all times
  • Client and site team liaison throughout project duration

 

Other responsibilities:

 

  • Supporting other areas of the business when required
  • Assist the team seeking new project opportunities
  • Working with stores manager to plan plant and equipment resourcing
