iBEX successfully tendered for these de-scaling and survey works at the world renowned Knockan Cragg, north of Ullapool in Scotland. The purpose of the project was to improve the safety of footpath users from potential falling debris.
- The remote working location required technicians to walk long distances to site on a daily basis
- The site works were carried out during winter in this harsh environment
- Ropes were rigged from temporary ground anchors installed and load tested in the ground above the cliff faces
- Using rope access techniques, with a team of 4 technicians carried out light scaling of 6500m² working sympathetically with the rock face
- Traffic management was required to close the road below when larger blocks were being removed
